Shortly before midnight on Wednesday, local police authorities in the winter resort had received information of a hanged man found at a construction site in the center of Bansko.

An emergency rescue operation in Bansko ended successfully Thursday after a lost snowboarder was found safe and sound.
After close to two hours of search, the reascue teams have managed to find an English snowboarder, Radio Focus announced.

Rescuers Save Man Hit by Avalanche in Bulgaria's Pirin Mountain
A man hit by an avalanche in Bulgaria's Pirin Mountain on Wednesday has been retrieved alive from under the snow piles.
Vasil Cholakov, 37, a Bulgarian national living in Sofia, has suffered a chest trauma and has been sent to a medical centre in the town of Bansko, according to the head of the Bulgarian Red Cross Hristo Grigorov, who was on the site.
Avalanche Hits Bulgaria's Pirin Mountain Slopes
A huge avalanche has fallen over the right slope of the Pirin mountain near the Baderitsa hut.
After the accident one person has been left under the snow piles, witnesses reported.

Avalanche Kills Three in Bulgaria's Pirin Mountain
Three skiers have died in an avalanche in the Prin mountain above the town of Razlog, in southwestern Bulgaria, 24 Chasa daily reported on Sunday.
Police have confirmed the death of three young men, aged 29, 34 and 38, all of them Bulgarian nationals, the daily said. BGNES news outlet reported earlier they were Greek nationals.

Skiers Speak Out Against FIS Reaction to Dangerous Race Conditions
After the Super-G races at the Bulgarian ski resort Bansko were cancelled on Friday and Saturday on account of the heavy fog, a number of skiers complained about the harsh conditions and the FIS reaction on Sunday.
Despite the similar situation, ski federation made sure that the competition went ahead anyway, thus posing a danger to a number of skiers, Reuters reported.
