Bulgaria: Economist Vladimir Karolev Found in Pirin Mountain in Grave Condition
Prominent Bulgarian economist Vladimir Karolev, who disappeared on May 9 under the Todorka peak in Pirin Mountain, was found on May 10 a little after midnight, the Mountain Rescue Service in Bansko told BNR-Radio Blagoevgrad. Karolev was found in a critical condition near Zhabeshko Lake. He was unconscious and carried down the mountain by the mountain rescuers.
Audi FIS Ski World Cup Bansko 2021 Starts Today
On February 27 and 28 the best skiers in the world will compete in Bansko twice in giant slalom (GS).
The track is "Banderitsa", the starting time of the reces on both days is 11.00 and 14.00 local time. The best skiers on the planet will come to Bansko directly from the world championship in Cortina D'Ampezzo (February 8-20).

Another accident in the mountains. An avalanche buried and killed a skier in Pirin. The tragic incident happened around 11:15 today.
The victim is 19 years old. The freerider was with an older man who was an experienced mountaineer. During the descent in one of the gutters of Todorka an avalanche fell, which buried the boy.

The Covid-19 immunity testing of the residents of Bansko, which was the first Bulgarian town placed under a fourteen-day quarantine, has begun. Each test lasts for approximately 15 to 20 minutes, which means that 4 to 5 persons are tested in one hour.
