Work continues in Black Sea provinces following floods
Works are still ongoing in several Black Sea provinces after heavy downpours caused rapid flooding, while some of the highways closed to traffic have been reopened, with an expert warning that extreme weather conditions will continue to prevail as climate change is accelerating.
Building erected by lifting jack leans again: Locals
Locals in the Black Sea province of Karabük have said, a building that became known nationwide for leaning after the floods on June 27, had leaned once before more than two decades ago and was erected with the help of a lifting jack.
"A building owned by two brothers in the Tır village of the Yenice district leaned after the June floods," İHA News Agency reported on July 4.
Minister flies flood victim children in police chopper
Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu, who visited Bartın, the northern province which was hit by floods the most among six Black Sea cities, to make inspections, has accepted the flood victim children's insistent demands to fly in a police helicopter.
Ottoman-style boats being built in historic dock
Old-style single-masted boats are being built for tourism purposes at a historic dock in the Black Sea province of Bartın, where galleys and galleons were built for the Ottoman navy after the 1500s, for the first time in 50 years.

"Six people were rescued from the cargo ship," provincial governor Guner said, as reported by TASS, referring to Anatolia.
In the meantime, bad news arrived, as Governor Sinan Guner announced that four people from the ship were killed and that their bodies were found.
