Inexperienced Greece beats Britain in overtime
The rejuvenated national basketball team, deprived of Greece's players in the Euroleague, premiered with a victory in overtime against Great Britain at Leicester on Friday, in its first game for the 2019 World Cup qualifiers.
Greece won 95-92 in front of a mixed set of fans where Greek students and expats had a very strong presence and often outshouted the Brits.

Greece lead Russia (37-31) in Eurobasket quarters (1st half)
The Greek national basketball team is leading Russia (37-31) at the end of the 1st half in their quarter final of the 2017 Eurobasket championships. Playmaker Nick Calathes is once more putting on a solid performance with 6 assists and 8 points.

Women Eurobasket, the Greek national basketball team is playing against Turkey for the semi-finals of the Women’s Eurobasket 2017.

Sports Digest: Panathinaikos deducted three points
SOCCER: The Super League disciplinary committee has given PAOK all three points from the abandoned game at Panathinaikos and deduct three points from the Greens' tally in the play-off mini-league and two points from next season's league table. Panathinaikos will also play two home games behind closed doors next season and pay a 41,000-euro fine.

Sports Digest: Tough day for Iraklis in soccer and basketball
SOCCER: Iraklis had three points deducted off its tally for the 2016-17 season on Wednesday for the delayed payment of dues to a former player, and is getting relegated to the second division. Levadiakos is staying up instead.

Game 1 of the Euroleague play-offs saw Olympiakos make the most of its home advantage to defeat Anadolu Efes on Wednesday, after Panathinaikos squandered a 16-point lead to suffer a potentially damaging loss to Fenerbahce in Athens on Tuesday.

Lavrio produced the upset of the weekend in the Basket League as it thrashed host Kolossos on Rhodes, while Doxa tried to shock visiting AEK at Lefkada but its loss sealed its relegation.
