Ottoman town celebrates 26th anniversary of being on UNESCO heritage list
Safranbolu, a district of the Black Sea province of Karabük that has become famous for its preserved historical buildings from the Ottoman period, marks the 26th anniversary of its entry into the UNESCO World Heritage List on Dec. 17.
Turkey Reopens Istanbul’s Iconic Grand Bazaar
"We have slowed down economically over nearly three months [amid the pandemic] but with God's help and the people's unity we will move forward and our economy will rise again," Istanbul governor Ali Yerlikaya said at the ceremony, Anadolu Agency reported.

Istanbul’s iconic Grand Bazaar set to reopen on June 1
Turkey's historic Grand Bazaar will reopen for shopping as of June 1, the chairman of the iconic tourist destination said
on May 8.
Fatih Kurtulmuş, chairman of the Grand Bazaar's (Kapalıçarşı) board, told reporters inside the 500-plus-year-old building about new measures to step up protections when visitors return.
Turkey's bazaar added to temporary UNESCO Heritage list
Turkey's historical Kemeraltı Bazaar, and its surrounding area, has been added to the temporary UNESCO World Heritage List.
The vibrant bazaar in the Aegean city of İzmir dates back to the 17th century. For tourists, it is a smaller version of Istanbul's Grand Bazaar.
Auction for Grand Bazaar shop starts with $227,000 per square meter
A 9.2-square-meter shop in Istanbul's touristic and commercial hotspot Grand Bazaar will be auctioned for 12 million Turkish Liras (nearly $2.1 million), according to an auction call.
Spar Hellas and Bazaar join forces
Supermarket chains Spar Hellas and Bazaar have decided to join forces, agreeing to a cooperation deal.
The agreement concerns three levels, aiming at the creation of economies of scale through synergies and the strengthening of both brands' presence, particularly in the category of convenience stores.

German Bazaar | Thessaloniki | December 15
In cooperation with the Thessaloniki Municipality, the Hellenic-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry is holding a Christmas bazaar inspired by German holiday traditions on Saturday, December 15. There will be snacks (with plenty of sausages), mulled wine and traditional German music, along with a Weihnachtsmarkt. The event is open to the public from noon to 9 p.m.
