Bulgaria has taken its first strides toward the establishment of environmentally conscious prisons, announced the Justice Ministry on Thursday. Exploring the Norwegian model, Bulgarian authorities are considering training both inmates and staff in Belene and Pleven prisons to acquire skills and knowledge in the green economy.

Amidst ongoing uncertainties surrounding the Belene nuclear power plant, Bulgaria's Energy Minister, Rumen Radev, revealed on Friday a strategic decision to postpone the sale of equipment from the unfinished facility to Ukraine. The key factor behind this move is Bulgaria's keen anticipation of a more cohesive and unified EU stance, particularly concerning financial support for Ukraine.

In a rapid ten-minute session, lawmakers backing Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov swiftly endorsed a proposal outlining the schedule for constructing units 7 and 8 at the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) using American technology.

Energy Minister Rumen Radev affirmed Ukraine's ongoing interest in acquiring equipment for Bulgaria's Belene Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) during an inspection of Bulgaria's gas link construction with Serbia. Radev stated that Ukraine remains eager to procure the equipment and is willing to meet Bulgaria's proposed price.

"Bulgaria has started equipping the coast guard with missiles". This was announced by Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov, specifying that the goal is "that no one dares to approach our Black Sea cities". The Prime Minister said this during the form in which he answers questions put to him by users on Facebook.

The Ukrainian company "Energoatom" announced that it will not sign an agreement with Russia for the purchase of nuclear reactors and other Russian-made energy equipment from Bulgaria, reported the Ukrainian news agency "Ukrinform".

"The Bulgarian national interest was sold three times in one day". This was stated by BSP leader Kornelia Ninova regarding Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to Bulgaria, today's approved declaration of Ukraine's accession to NATO and the decision to sell equipment from the "Belene" NPP to Ukraine.

Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov announced that Ukraine had made an inquiry about the reactors from "Belene" already last year.

Deputies from three parliamentary groups - GERB, WCC-DB and DPS - submitted a proposal to the National Assembly to attempt to sell equipment for the "Belene" Nuclear Power Plant to Ukraine through negotiations. This was announced by the initiators Delyan Dobrev and Ivaylo Mirchev.

The proposal was submitted to the registry of the National Assembly.

The final signing of an engineering contract with the American company "Westinghouse" for the construction of two units at the site of the Kozloduy NPP is pending. This was announced by the acting Deputy Minister of Energy Elenko Bozhkov:
