Studies reveal eating habits of Pergamon people

Skeletons examined by Turkish and German scientists in the ancient city of Bergama revealed that people living in the region 2,000 years ago mainly ate carbohydrates and plants, while the wealthy consumed more meat.

The studies also revealed that people of the region suffered dental problems and sinus diseases the most.

Life in ancient Pergamon presented to int’l archaeological community

The results of a project on life in the ancient city of Pergamon (today's Bergama), which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List, 1,800 years ago have been presented to the international archaeological community through the New York University Institute for the Study of the Ancient World (ISAW).
