"Opportunity to affirm EU as region's geostrategic choice"

European Council President Donald Tusk said in Sofia on Wednesday, Beta is reporting.

Tusk said that besides long-term prospects, the EU wanted to show that it took care of socio-economic development in the region and that he hoped the summit would bring the "friends from the Western Balkans" closer to the European Union.

Svilanovic: Berlin Process impetus to regional cooperation

Next Western Balkans Summit to be held in London July 9-10

MT KOPAONIK - The next Western Balkans Summit in the Berlin Process will be held in London on July 9-10, with help in digital transformation to be one of the main topics, the Summit's coordinator Andrew Page told Tanjug at the Kopaonik Business Forum on Monday.

The UK has expressed a desire to remain committed to helping the Western Balkans despite Brexit, he said.

Connectivity among 115 criteria for Western Balkans

BRUSSELS - The 115 criteria on which work must be stepped up in the Western Balkans are part of progress in the Berlin Process and represent measures agreed at last year's Trieste Summit, Tanjug's sources in Brussels say.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday it was important that the region meets the 115 criteria by a Sofia summit in mid-May.

European Commission President Continues with His Tour of the Western Balkans

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker continues with his tour of the Western Balkans. Together with the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security, Federica Mogherini and EU Enlargement Commissioner Johannes Khan will visit Montenegro.

Yesterday, the three were in Serbia, where they called on Belgrade to improve relations with Kosovo on the road to membership.

Vucic receives Dittmann

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on Wednesday received German Ambassador to Belgrade Axel Dittmann to discuss bilateral political and economic relations, noting that overall bilateral ties were making constant progress.

They also discussed Serbia's EU path and stabilisation of the situation in the Western Balkans, in particular through the Berlin Process.
