"Always Here," one of the opening exhibitions at Istanbul Modern's new building, showcases a selection of works from the museum collection acquired by the Women Artists Fund, established by Istanbul Modern in 2016 to support the production of women artists in Türkiye increase public awareness of their work and strengthen their representation.

İzzet Keribar talks about his photography adventure

İzzet Keribar, who has been recording the city and people for years, told about his adventure of becoming a master photographer.

"Compared to now, I think that I have photographed Istanbul very little. Because we could not predict that Istanbul would change so much. We thought that boats in Karaköy would always stay," he said.

Istanbul Modern welcomes its architect

Istanbul's museum of modern art, Istanbul Modern, moved on May 4 into a new building overlooking the Bosphorus Strait, designed by Renzo Piano, the Italian-born architect of London's Shard skyscraper and the Pompidou Center in Paris.

Established in 2004, the Istanbul Modern in 2018 moved out of a rustic building that once served as a customs warehouse.

Replica of snake statue placed at Galatasaray High School

A new snake sculpture has been installed in place of the historical statue at the front gate of Galatasaray High School that disappeared about three months ago.

In April, the disappearance of one of the historical snake statues on the columns in the front gate of Galatasaray High School on the İstiklal Avenue sparked controversy.

Istanbul Stages Football Festivities Ahead of Champions League Final

Winner of sculpture competition placed in Taksim Square

A sculpture, which has been selected from 80 works, was placed right next to the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) in Istanbul's Taksim Square.

A sculpture competition was held in April last year to enrich the architecture of AKM, which underwent a great restoration work and now welcomes art lovers with its renewed face.
