Winner of sculpture competition placed in Taksim Square
A sculpture, which has been selected from 80 works, was placed right next to the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) in Istanbul's Taksim Square.
A sculpture competition was held in April last year to enrich the architecture of AKM, which underwent a great restoration work and now welcomes art lovers with its renewed face.
Istanbul Modern opens new museum building
The new building and exhibitions of Istanbul Modern, Türkiye's first modern and contemporary art museum, has opened on May 4. The official opening ceremony of the museum will be held later.

Snake statue of Galatasaray High School missing
The disappearance of one of the historical snake statues on the columns in the front gate of Galatasaray High School on the İstiklal Avenue of Istanbul has sparked controversy.
Şerif Yaşar, the president of the Art History Association, said that the statue which is more than than 150 years old, no longer exists in its place.
