A new mobile application will allow visitors of Bulgaria's beaches to pay in advance for an umbrella and sunbed. It will be active from June 1. Small Drop in Food Prices in Bulgaria: Cheaper Cucumbers and Eggs
A small drop in wholesale prices was registered this week by the Market Price Index (MPI). It is up 1.12 percent to 2,385, BTA reported.
Since the beginning of 2023, the index has risen by 2.98 percent (from 2.316 points). Its base level of 1,000 points dates back to 2005.

The average amount of the tuition fee in public universities for the academic year 2023/2024 will be BGN 1,050, and the application fee will be BGN 50, decided the caretaker government.

Payment of Easter Supplements for Bulgarian Pensioners begins today
The additional amount to pensions of BGN 70 (EUR 35), with which to provide Easter supplements for Bulgarian pensioners, will begin today.
Pensioners who receive their pensions through post offices will be able to receive the additional amount from them as well. The rest will receive a transfer within the month.
A slight Drop in Wholesale Food Prices in Bulgaria
The market price index (MPI), which reflects wholesale food prices in Bulgaria, fell this week by 0.55 percent to 2,370 points, BTA reported.
Its level decreased for the fourth week in a row. Since March 10, the MPI has retreated by 4.64 percent from 2,480 points.
The base level of the MPI - 1,000 points - is from 2005.

Bulgaria: First Drop in Wholesale Food Prices in over two months
The market price index (MPI), which reflects wholesale food prices in Bulgaria, fell this week by 0.53 percent to 2,467 points. Since the beginning of the year, the level of the index has risen by 6.12 percent (from 2,316 points). This is the first drop in the MPI level in more than two months and the second for this year, notes BTA.
