Bulgaria: Wholesale Food Prices have Risen by more than 7% since the Beginning of 2023
The market price index (MPI), which reflects wholesale food prices in Bulgaria, rose this week by 0.32 percent to 2,480 points. Since the beginning of the year, the level of the index has risen by over 7 percent (from 2,316 points), BTA reported.
The base level of the MPI - 1,000 points - is from 2005.
Men's Salaries and Pensions in Bulgaria are Much Higher than Women's
The difference in average salaries between men and women in Bulgaria in December 2022 is 15.5 percent. This was announced by the president of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria Plamen Dimitrov at a national conference on gender equality and working conditions organized by the trade union:

Food prices in Bulgaria continue to rise, according to the market price index (MPI), reports BTA. It reports wholesale food levels and increased by 0.86% to 2,472 points in the first week of March. Since the beginning of 2023, its level has risen by 6.74% (from 2.316 points).
The base level of the MPI - 1,000 points - is from 2005.

From February 1, all children up to 10 years of age will travel for free on public transport. The discount on the price of student travel cards is increased from 20% to 70%, and on seniors travel cards - to 40%.
Bulgaria has the Cheapest Fuel on the Balkans

Over the course of a Year: Wholesale Food Prices in Bulgaria have Risen by nearly 52 percent
The index of market prices (ITC), which reflects the prices of wholesale food products in Bulgaria, rose in two weeks by 0.61 percent to its next record of 2,316 points. The increase takes into account the increase in the price of food products for the Christmas holidays, BTA reported.
Bulgaria: Imports are Growing more than Exports
In the period January - May, the export of goods from Bulgaria to third countries increased by 29.5% compared to the same period of 2021 and was worth BGN 11.698 billion. Bulgaria's main trading partners are Turkey, Serbia, the USA, North Macedonia, the United Kingdom, China and Gibraltar, which form 51.1% of exports to third countries.

The EC approved Bulgaria to Receive over BGN 32 Billion (EUR 16.4) for 7 years
The European Commission approved today the partnership agreement with Bulgaria for 11 billion euros (BGN 21.5 billion) for the period 2021 - 2027, the EC announced.
Thus, together with the funds under the Recovery Plan, Bulgaria will have access to over BGN 32 billion from the EU for the 7-year period.
Head of Petkov’s Office: Spokespeople for Russia receive 4,000 BGN Per Month in Bulgaria
