Anti-graft prosecutors in Romania on Tuesday detained Alina Bica, the former Chief Prosecutor for Organised Crime and Terrorism, and Serban Pop, the former head of the Tax Authority, for allegedly taking bribes from a businessman to resolve a court case in his favour.

Bica, Videanu, Alin and Dorin Cocos, under preventive arrest for 30 days
Former Directorate for the Investigation of Organised Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) Director Alina Bica, former Economy Minister Adriean Videanu, businessman Dorin Cocos and his son, Alin Cocos, as well as Ionut Mihailescu, former adviser to Alina Bica, were placed under preventive arrest for 30 days, as decided by the High Court of Cassation and Justice (ICCJ).
