Banovci – Slovenians are increasingly embracing bike share schemes, which have so far been mostly available in cities. Now, the popular rental service is expanding to the rural Prlekija region in the north-east of the country as part of the project Bike Chain in the Countryside. Both regular and e-bikes will be available.

Gov’t announces changes in traffic regulation
With the new changes in the traffic regulation entered into force as of Aug. 16, it has become mandatory for minibuses, buses and taxis to have a three-point seat belt for children, while motorcycle, e-scooter and bicycle riders are required to wear reflective vests at night.

Bicycle import significantly higher than decade ago
Ljubljana – Import of bicycles in 2021 totalled some 82,600 bicycles, up by around 17,000 bicycles or a fifth compared to 2011, shows the latest data from the Statistics Office, with electric bikes also gaining in popularity over the last five years.

Amsterdam has banned beer bikes amid complaints about rowdy tourists being drunk and disorderly, reported BBC.
A court ruling on Tuesday allowed officials to prohibit their use in the centre of the Dutch city, calling the contraptions a "public order problem".
