Israel and the United Arab Emirates announced on Aug. 13 that they will normalize diplomatic ties and forge a broad new relationship, a move that reshapes the order of Middle East politics from the Palestinian issue to the fight against Iran.

Israel and the United Arab Emirates have reached an agreement - brokered by the United States - to work towards a "full normalisation of relations", a deal the Palestinians called a "treacherous stab in the back".

Prime Minister Ludovic Orban on Wednesday had a phone conversation with the Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Sheik Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, upon His Royal Highness' initiative, in which context they agreed to continue joint efforts to strengthen and further extend bilateral economic cooperation.

Since the beginning of 2020, the pace of normalization between Israel and Arab countries has accelerated considerably on the political, military, economic, and even sports fronts.

Tel Aviv has been keen to publicly announce secret relations with Arab countries in a bid to break with political tradition.

Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, currently on a visit to Abu Dhabi, was scheduled to meet on Monday with business representatives in a bid to strengthen bilateral economic relations between Greece and the United Arab Emirates.

The government has approved a draft Strategic Cooperation Agreement between Bulgaria and the United Arab Emirates as a basis for negotiations between the two countries, said the government press office.

The United Arab Emirates is among the countries in the Gulf region with which Bulgaria has been developing ever closer relations and dynamic cooperation over recent years.

After activating relations between Bulgaria and the United Arab Emirates, it is important to maintain this dynamics and continue to develop beneficial cooperation.
