Incentives for biomethane production

Biomethane, after photovoltaics, is emerging as the next field of activity for citizens in renewable energy sources. A bill promoted by the Ministry of Environment and Energy establishes incentives for the production and use of biomethane that can be distributed through the existing natural gas network and used by consumers.

Energy crisis – Price increases in products due to rising electricity prices

The market is facing a new round of price hikes, as everything shows, with companies declaring themselves unable to contain rising production costs.

The energy crisis is triggering another "wave" of prices rises, causing consumer dissatisfaction, and causing a reduction in purchases to what is absolutely necessary, while many are buying cheaper, lower nutritional value products.

Ljubljana – Higher energy prices – the prices of natural gas, electricity and oil derivatives – are a major problem for the entire EU economy not just for Slovenian’s, Economy Minister Zdravko Počivalšek said in Ljubljana on Tuesday. The situation is being analysed and he hopes solutions will be found for each segment.

Slovenia produced more food waste last year

Ljubljana – The average person in Slovenia threw away 68 kilograms of food last year, one kilogram more than in 2019, of which 40% was still edible. Households and foodstuffs trade generated more food waste, while food production and the catering and food service industries generated less, the Statistics Office data show.

Electricity usage up 19.2 percent in May

Turkey's electricity consumption increased by 19.2 percent in May, compared to the same month of 2020, according to the latest data released by the Energy and Natural Resources Ministry.

The country's power consumption reached 24.78 billion kilowatt-hours last month and electricity production also increased by 20.3 percent to 24.90 billion kilowatt-hours compared to May 2020.
