Several thousands people took the streets of Bulgarian capital of Sofia, with hundreds more protesting in nine more cities across the country, after the government decision to allow constructions at the Pirin National Park.

Chanting "Mafia" and "Resignation" the protesters have blocked the Eagles' Bridge in central Sofia.

US singer, songwriter and director Jared Leto and the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, which supports initiatives for sustainable development, have called on their many followers on Twitter to join the campaign of WWF-Bulgaria to save the UNESCO-designated Pirin National Park in Bulgaria.

Hollywood star Jared Leto joined the  Campaign for saving Pirin Mountains (WWF) and sent a letter to Bulgarian Prime Minister B. Borisov. The text of the letter, which is automatically generated by WWF's website, calls on Borisov to take the case, save the centuries-old woods and protect the environment.

Five people were injured in a severe car crash near the Zagara cabin in Pirin. Reported Sega.

The incident happened last night. Two cars have descended from the cabin to Kresna. The first car has left the road and has fallen into a gully. The crash has happened in a stretch where only specialised cars could pass. The five victims were taken to the hospital in Blagoevgrad.
