700 Students in Sofia have COVID-19

Today the second school term begins, and the students from 1st to 6th grade, as well as those from 8th, 9th and 11th grade, are returning to school in Sofia. As of yesterday, 700 students were diagnosed with coronavirus.

This was stated by Vanya Kastreva, head of the Regional Education Management in the capital, on BNT.

Bulgaria: Economist Vladimir Karolev Found in Pirin Mountain in Grave Condition

Prominent Bulgarian economist Vladimir Karolev, who disappeared on May 9 under the Todorka peak in Pirin Mountain, was found on May 10 a little after midnight, the Mountain Rescue Service in Bansko told BNR-Radio Blagoevgrad. Karolev was found in a critical condition near Zhabeshko Lake. He was unconscious and carried down the mountain by the mountain rescuers.

Three of the newly infected are in Sofia, there is one case each in Blagoevgrad, Plovdiv and Pazardzhik. 862 patients have already been cured.

354 COVID-19 Infected in Bulgaria

The total number of coronavirus infected in Bulgaria is 354, said the head of the National Operations Headquarters, Professor Ventsislav Mutafchiiski.

So far, 15 people have been cured, 8 people have died, with an average age of the dead - 66 years.

The most infected are in Sofia, where 13 cases were registered in the last 24 hours.
