Erdoğan urges global action against Israel's 'barbarism'

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has called on the international community to unite against Israel's "barbarism" in Gaza.

"I call on all states to protect the honor and dignity of humanity, along with the children of Gaza, and to take a clear stance against the out-of-control Israeli barbarism," Erdoğan said in a message shared on social media.

Israel Claims Control Over Strategic Zone Between Gaza and Egypt

The Israeli army has announced that it controls the strategic zone along the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt, known as the Philadelphi Corridor. This area spans 8 kilometers and, in some places, is more than 100 meters wide. The military claims to have discovered 20 tunnels used by the radical Palestinian group Hamas to smuggle weapons into Gaza.

Turkish parliament calls for urgent UN Security Council meeting

The Turkish parliament has adopted a motion condemning Israel's attacks in the Gaza Strip city of Rafah, calling for an urgent meeting at the United Nations Security Council.

The resolution, passed unanimously at the general assembly on May 29, called on the security council to urgently convene and adopt a resolution to put an end to Israel's attacks in the southern Gaza city.
