Natural gas cuts to industrial zones end: Botaş

Turkey's Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (Botaş) announced yesterday that natural gas cuts to industrial zones would end as of this morning.

In a tweet, the national energy company thanked industrialists "for their understanding and cooperation in this period."

On Jan. 20, Iran halted natural gas flow into Turkey for 10 days due to technical failures on a key pipeline.

İYİ Party leader criticizes gov’t energy policies

İYİ (Good) Party leader Meral Akşener has criticized the government's way of conducting energy policies, saying Turkey became dependent on Russia for its energy needs.

Turkey lights first gas flare at Sakarya field in Black Sea

Turkey lit the first gas flare in the Sakarya Gas Field located in the Black Sea during a ceremony on July 28.

"Today, for the first time, we will burn off the Black Sea gas that we discovered and started to extract from hundreds of meters underground," said President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, addressing a virtual ceremony to mark the occasion.

TurkStream gas flow to halt for annual maintenance

Natural gas flow through both offshore lines of the TurkStream pipeline will be temporarily halted from 22 June until 29 June 2021, for annual maintenance and routine diagnostics, the project company, TurkStream, announced on June 16.

The works will be carried out by South Stream Transport B.V., the operator of the offshore pipeline system.
