23-year-old in critical condition after being attacked by ‘trapper’
A 23-year-old man, who had been beaten by two suspects in Thessaloniki on Friday, remains hospitalized in critical condition after sustaining severe injuries.
The victim was assaulted by two men in the earlier hours Friday. One of the alleged suspects is a well-known trap music artist.
Bulgaria: The Legal Commission adopted Changes to the Criminal Code and in the Domestic Violence Act
At an extraordinary meeting, the legal commission in the Bulgarian parliament adopted changes to the Criminal Code and the Law on Domestic Violence. Penalties for minor and moderate bodily harm are increased, and intimate relationships are equated to cases of domestic violence along with de facto conjugal cohabitation.
Handler of crashed jet ski arrested
The 32-year-old handler of the jet ski that crashed onto a wooden hut on Crete, leaving one 10-year-old boy seriously injured, was arrested on Thursday.
According to a statement released by the Hellenic Coast Guard, the 32-year-old man is being charged with a count of violating the safety of transportation and one of negligent bodily harm.

Man hospitalized with serious burns after wife sets him on fire
A woman was arrested on the island of Lesvos for pouring flammable liquid over her husband and setting him on fire.
The victim, a businessman in the catering industry, was rushed to an intensive care unit in the island's capital of Mytilini with extensive burns and breathing difficulties.

Migrant bites police officer in Thessaloniki
A 23-year-old Iranian migrant was arrested on Friday in Thessaloniki, northern Greece, after reportedly biting a riot police officer's leg.
The incident occurred when police were dispatched to break up a minor scuffle that the man was involved in at a migrant center in an area near Thessaloniki's main train station.

Giakoumakis bullying trial postponed
The trial against nine former students of the Dairy School of Ioannina on charges of causing grievous bodily harm to classmate Vangelis Giakoumakis - a 20-year-old who committed suicide at the school in 2015 - was adjourned until June 6 on Tuesday.
The court in northwestern Greece heard from three witnesses, including a classmate who said she never saw the 20-year-old being bullied.

Truck driver charged over hitting protesting refugee, files countersuit
A court in Thessaloniki charged a 26-year-old truck driver on Tuesday with intentionally causing grievous bodily harm during a fight that broke out on Monday at a road blockade by protesting refugees outside the Diavata camp in northern Greece.
Six men convicted in US tourist's fatal beating avoid life sentences
A Greek court on Thursday convicted and sentenced six of nine suspects in the fatal beating of an American tourist in an island resort last year.
They were handed sentences ranging from five to 15 years on reduced charges of deliberate bodily harm.
