Bulgaria and North Macedonia will be Connected via another Border Crossing
A new border checkpoint will be built between Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia, the press center of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works announced. The strategic project for the Klepalo border checkpoint between Strumyani and Berovo will provide another link between the two countries and help develop economic co-operation and tourism.

Croatia meets the necessary conditions to implement all parts of the Schengen acquis.
This is the conclusion reached by the Council of the EU.
The report on the issue was adopted at today's Justice and Home Affairs Council in Brussels. This was announced by Slovenian Interior Minister Ales Hojs, whose country holds the EU presidency.

Turkish, Serbian police hold 125 irregular migrants at Croatia border
Turkish police in a joint border duty with Serbian authorities on the Croatian border reportedly caught 125 irregular migrants trying to illegally cross into EU countries.
According to a statement by the Turkish Embassy in Belgrade, over the past 40 days, a total of 125 migrants who illegally entered Turkish cargo trucks have been held.

Illegal migration down by 40% in first seven months y/y
Ljubljana – Police dealt with 4,495 illegal crossings of the border in the first seven months of 2021, some 40% fewer than in the same period last year, when there were 7,577. The most frequently processed illegal migrants were from Afghanistan (975), Pakistan (806) and Bangladesh (522).

Twelve migrants from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, found hidden in two lorries at border with Hungary
Officers at the Nadlac I Border Crossing Point caught 12 migrants from Afghanistan and Bangladesh trying to cross the border illegally into Hungary, hiding in two lorries. Both lorries were driven by Bulgarian nationals transporting starch and bird food to companies in Slovakia and Sweden, according to the accompanying documents.
