JERUSALEM - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic has said that he is not happy with Rušian President Vladimir Putin's announcement of the closure of the South Stream project, but added that the Serbian citizens need not worry as the government will manage to solve the išue of securing gas supplies for the country.

Boris Tadic named leader of Social Democratic Party

BELGRADE - The New Democratic Party, the youngest party on Serbia's political scene, has been renamed the Social Democratic Party (SDS), and Boris Tadic was elected its president.

The party leadership will be known after the party assembly election on October 26, and in the meantime, a request for the name change will be filed to the Ministry of Public Administration.

NDS registered, direct party election in October

BELGRADE - The New Democratic Party (NDS) has been officially registered as a political organization, and direct party elections will be held by mid October, NDS leader Boris Tadic told Tanjug on Friday.

He noted that this will be the first time for a party in Serbia to have its leadership elected directly by the party members.
