GERB Leader Woos US Investors with Tenders for Black Sea Gas Fields

Boyko Borisov, ex Bulgarian Prime Minister and leader of center-right party GERB, has vowed transparent oil and gas exploration tenders as soon as the party returns to power.

Speaking Tuesday at a round table discussion on energy security at the US Chamber of Commerce in Washington, he recommended Black Sea oil and gas fields as a great investment opportunity to US companies.

Boyko Borisov: Government Must Resign Immediately

Bulgaria's Government must resign immediately, said the leader of the opposition party GERB Boyko Borisov at an extraordinary press conference on Thursday. 

It was called in after earlier on Thursday the leader of the government coalition partner Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS), Lyutvi Mestan, said the government should resign and early elections be held by the end of 2014.

Opposition GERB To Table Fifth No Confidence Vote

Opposition GERB leader Boyko Borisov said his party will table for discussion in Parliament a fifth no confidence vote.

It will be on “financial policies” and the motion will be formally filed by the end of Thursday.  Borisov could not divulge further details, as, according to him, his colleagues were currently drafting the motives. 

Sofia Court Leaves Ghastly Murder Case Defendant in Jail

Sofia City Court has extended the detention of Nikolay Roussinov who is a defendant for the murder of Yana Krasteva in Sofia's Borisova Gradina Park in the summer of 2011.

The decision was made on the grounds of risk of absconding, which is enough to extend the detention of Roussinov, BGNES reports.

GERB to Submit No-Confidence Motion against Bulgarian Govt on Friday

Center-right party GERB will submit a no-confidence motion over the failed energy policy of the Bulgarian socialist-led government on Friday.

The step was announced by Boyko Borisov, former Prime Minister and leader of the party, during consultations with representatives of the right-wing formation The Reformist Bloc on energy.
