Pahor and his climate advisors talk Slovenia’s energy future
Ljubljana – President Borut Pahor met on Tuesday with members of his permanent advisory committee on climate policy. Slovenia’s energy future topped the agenda, with the participants discussing efforts to make the country carbon-neutral and energy self-sufficient, Pahor’s office said.
STA and UKOM agree to resume talks
Ljubljana – The Slovenian Press Agency (STA) and Government Communication Office (UKOM) agreed to resume talks aimed at signing the annual agreement to fund the STA public service as the two directors were hosted by President Borut Pahor for a meeting at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday.

Pahor seeks to broker deal between STA and UKOM
Ljubljana – President Borut Pahor will organise a meeting between the directors of the Slovenian Press Agency (STA) and the Government Communication Office (UKOM) on Tuesday in a bid to find a solution to “issues that resulted in suspension of financing of the STA public service”.

Slovenian Nazi, Fascist camp survivors meet for 60th get-together
Portorož – Ex-internees and political prisoners from Nazi and Fascist camps as well as stolen children and exiles gathered for their 60th annual get-together in Portorož on Sunday. The closing ceremony was held under the auspices of President Borut Pahor, who honoured one of the main organisers with a special recognition.
Pahor and Ader mark 30 years of Slovenian minority association in Hungary
Szentgotthard, 4 September – The presidents of Slovenia and Hungary, Borut Pahor and Janos Ader, honoured the 30th anniversary of the the Association of Slovenians in Hungary at a ceremony in Szentgotthard on Saturday with Pahor noting the important role of ethnic minorities as a link between nations.
PM Janša discusses Afghanistan situation with US senators
Ljubljana – Prime Minister Janez Janša met on Friday a delegation of US senators who are visiting Slovenia on the occasion of Slovenian-American Friendship Day. During a working lunch the officials talked about current international issues, including the situation in Afghanistan, and relations between the US and Slovenia, Janša’s office said.

Govt support dips to a record low ahead of new wave of epidemic
Ljubljana – Just over a quarter of respondents in the latest public opinion poll conducted by Mediana for commercial broadcaster POP TV support the work of the Janez Janša government, which is the lowest support in this term. The senior coalition Democrats (SDS) continue to top party rankings, followed by the opposition Social Democrats (SD).
