More than 20 business deals were closed in 2023 in the food and beverage sector in Greece, a sector that was once again dominated by strong mobility. Moreover, a number agreements were launched in 2023 that are expected to be closed in 2024.

Bottled water: The profits of industries are “drying up”
Packaging materials, energy costs and transportation are eating up the profits of the domestic bottled water industry despite the forecasts for strong consumption in the summer season.
At the same time, consumers are paying more for water, while from next week prices will rise further due to the recycling fee, which is imposed on products that have plastic packaging.

I can't shake the feeling that we're so late in responding to this crisis. I live in the Washington DC area. Up until last weekend restaurants were packed and people still complained about the media blowing it all out of proportion. People still accepted invitations to parties. They did start stocking up early though.

The Health Risk of Plastic in Drinking Water is Low
Consumers are not at risk, say WHO.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has defined as "low" the risk to the health of microplastics in drinking water.
The current level of small particles of plastic in drinking water does not endanger consumers, WHO said, but added that more research was needed on the topic.
Bulgarian Project is Semi-Finalist at a European Social Innovation Contest
The project is an interactive map of the free sources of drinking water in Bulgaria. It aims to encourage the use of tap water instead of bottled, thereby reducing contamination with disposable plastic bottles. The map is open and filled in by volunteers.
CCHBC eyes evolution into food company
The main priorities the management of the Coca-Cola HBC AG group has set for 2019 are acquisitions of strong local brands (mainly in the categories of bottled water and juice), cooperations with companies active in online commerce (especially in packaged food), and emphasis on the hotel sector.
