Turkey breaks medal record at Tokyo Paralympic Games

Turkish athletes have bagged the 11th medal on the seventh day of the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games, surpassing the 10 medal-record in the 2016 Rio Games.

Turkish Paralympic shooter Aysegül Pehlivanlar won a silver medal on Aug. 31 in the P2 women's 10m Air Pistol event. She won with a total of 234.5 points in the final.

Turkish athlete wins bronze in European Open Para Swimming Championships

Turkish Paralympic swimmer Sümeyye Boyacı claimed a bronze medal at the European Open Para Swimming Championships, the Turkish National Paralympic Committee said on May 22.

Boyacı, 18, finished in third place in the women's 200 meters freestyle in a time of 3.22.48 in Madeira, Portugal, TNPC said.

Turkish athlete wins gold at World Para Swimming Series

Turkish Para-swimmer Sümeyye Boyacı captured gold on April 17 in the third leg of the World Para Swimming World Series, according to the Turkish Sports Federation for the Physically Disabled.

Boyacı bagged top honors in the women's 50-meter backstroke in a time of 43.83 while teammate Sevilay Öztürk won the silver in 45.97 in the tournament in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy.
