The sample included 1012 adult citizens and was carried out in the period March 10 - 16.

Ivan Garelov has been fired from the post media adviser of the interim government, announced Garelov himself to Nova TV.

"I spoke to the interim Prime Minister Ognyan Gerdzhikov. He informed me verbally that I have been fired as media adviser. I have not signed anything in writing. Probably, I will receive the order that I have been fired tomorrow," stated Garelov.

The candidate for member of Parliament of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) Elena Yoncheva urged the former Prime Minister Boyko Borisov to leave politics if the court prove that he lied that the government paid for her reportage.

According to her words during an interview on BTV, she promised to do the same if the words of Borisov prove the truth.

The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) has a narrow edge on conservative GERB less than a month before the early election in March, a new poll shows.

As many as 31.9% have of respondents approve him, more than three months after he submitted his resignation as Prime Minister and a month since he left office, according to data released on Monday.

Five parties will make it to Bulgaria's legislature in the upcoming parliamentary election in March, but others also stand a chance, a poll has suggested.

According to Alpha Research pollsters' projection, conservative GERB party of Boyko Borisov, which dominated the previous government, will lead by a margin of less than 2%, garnering 31.5% of the vote.

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has fended off claims that the vote might be contested due to the lack of electronic voting.

CEC spokesperson Aleksandar Andreev has told the Bulgarian National Radio that the development is far from being the most substantial claim one could lodge over the election.
