Bulgaria will ask for a Derogation from European Sanctions against Russian Nuclear Energy
The caretaker government is preparing a request for a derogation if the European Union imposes sanctions against Russian nuclear energy, Deputy Minister of Energy Elenko Bozhkov told BNT.
Bulgaria’s Energy Ministry: The Natural Gas for 2023 is Secured
"The gas for 2023 is secured, the expectations are for stabilization of the prices in the coming winter months", Deputy Minister of Energy Elenko Bozhkov said on BNT.
According to him, the warmer winter means less gas used from the gas storage in Chiren.
CEC Refused Registration for Parliamentary Elections of Former Gambling Boss Bozhkov
The Central Election Commission has refused to register the party of Dubai-based businessman with Vasil Bozhkov "Bulgarian Summer" for the November 14th parliamentary elections. Bozhkov is investigated and has multiple charges by the Bulgarian prosecution.
The decision was made on September 29 and is subject to appeal to the Supreme Administrative Court within three days.

Worth of Heroin Shipment Ceased in Sliven Estimated at BGN 25 M
Speaking at a briefing in Sofia on Monday, head of the specialized prosecution service, Valentina Madjarova, said that the worth of nearly 500 kilos of heroin ceased during a raid in the southern city of Sliven on June 4 is estimated at BGN 25 million. Two persons, who are Turkish nationals, were detained in the raid. The two, whom the court remanded in custody, have no criminal record.

The Prosecutor's Office announced today that it is launching an investigation into the information disclosed by the State Department of the United States on corruption activities involving Vasil Bozhkov, Delyan Peevski, Ilko Zheliazkov, Alexander Manolev, Petar Haralampiev and Krasimir Tomov.
Head of Cabinet of Caretaker Interior Minister Resigned
Elena Ficherova, head of the cabinet of Interior Minister Boyko Rashkov, has applied for dismissal, the ministry said.
"The act is motivated by the desire not to cause negatives for the political cabinet. Interior Minister Boyko Rashkov has granted the request. The order comes into force today," the statement said.
