UNGA head to visit refugee camps in Turkey

Volkan Bozkır, The Turkish diplomat heading the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), said on March 31 that he will depart on his first official trip since taking office to visit Turkey, Qatar and Azerbaijan.

He said his stops will include Hatay in Turkey where he will meet Syrian refugees and visit the U.N. cross-border humanitarian mechanism.

Turkish scholar's murder suspect remains under house arrest in Ukraine

A fugitive suspect in the murder of a Turkish scholar researching the FETÖ terror group will remain under house arrest, a Ukrainian court said on Jan. 22.

The Kiev Court of Appeals was evaluating the prosecutor's office's objection against keeping Nuri Gökhan Bozkır under house arrest.

Turkey: We will not take back immigrants already in Greece

Turkey will not take back migrants already on Greek islands, said Minister for European Affairs of Turkey Volkan Bozkır on Thursday.

The deal between Turkey and the European Union to readmit immigrants does not apply to refugees and immigrants already on Greek islands but to those who arrive once the agreement is in effect, according to Anadolu agancy media.
