UK nominates movie on gender-based violence in Turkey for Oscars
A British-made documentary about pervasive gender-based violence in Turkey has been selected as the United Kingdom's Oscar nominee for the 94th Academy Awards, to be held in March in Los Angeles.
Directed by Chloe Fairweather, "Dying to Divorce" has been selected to represent Britain at the Oscars as the official entry in the Best International Feature Film category.
15 people still missing after devastating Black Sea floods
Teams are still searching for 15 people who went missing after the floods that hit Turkey's Black Sea region last month, Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu has said.
Heavy rains and ensuing flash floods in the country's north almost a month ago left at least 82 people dead.
The province of Kastamonu was the most affected where 71 people lost their lives.
13,000 truckloads of mud taken out from flood site
Some 13,000 truckloads of mud have been removed from the Black Sea province of Kastamonu's Bozkurt district that was hit by a flood on Aug. 11, the interior minister has announced.
"It is two weeks after the disaster… 13,000 truckloads of mud removed, Some 1,207 truckloads of humanitarian aid delivered to the site," Süleyman Soylu tweeted on Aug. 26.

Heavy rains hit the region in the north of the country last Wednesday, leaving 71 people dead in the province of Kastamonu, said a statement by the Disaster and Emergency Management Agency.
Police boat, divers search for missing from floods
A police boat and divers joined the search for some 15 people still missing more than a week after severe floods devastated parts of Turkey's Black Sea provinces, as authorities have raised the death toll from the disaster to 82.
