Turkish, US presidential aides discuss ties, regional matters

Turkish presidential spokesperson İbrahim Kalın and U..S National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan exchanged views on bilateral relations and regional issues during a telephone call on Nov. 19. 

The two officials spoke about political and economic relations, cooperation in defense, global and regional matters, the Turkish Presidency said in a statement.

Turkish president in Italy to attend G20 summit

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan arrived early on Oct. 30 in Rome to attend the 16th G20 summit. 

Erdoğan was welcomed at the Fiumicino-Leonardo da Vinci International Airport by Ankara's Ambassador to Rome Ömer Gucuk and Vatican Ambassador Lutfullah Göktaş, as well as the staff of the Rome and Vatican embassies.

EU lacks vision to shape relations with Turkey: Presidential spokesperson

Turkey's presidential spokesman İbrahim Kalın on July 2 said the European Union, is "weak" and " without a plan."

Speaking to German newspaper FAZ, Kalın said the EU lacks the vision to shape relations with Turkey.

"I wonder why we are not making progress anywhere. It can't just be due to Turkey," Kalın told reporters.
