Turkey, US agree joint efforts needed for regional peace

Top Turkish and U.S. officials on May 29 discussed bilateral relations and regional issues in Istanbul.

In a meeting held at the Dolmabahçe Office, Turkey's presidential spokesman İbrahim Kalın and U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman discussed the agenda of the upcoming NATO summit on June 14.

Ankara readying for Erdoğan-Biden meeting at NATO summit

Turkey wants Russian-Ukrainian issues settled via talks

Turkey's presidential spokesman on April 11 reiterated his country's call for a de-escalation of tension between Russia and Ukraine.

"Turkey defends Ukraine's territorial integrity and the rights of Crimean Tatars and supports the settlement of the problems between Russia and Ukraine through negotiations," Ibrahim Kalın said on Twitter.

Turkey, US can resolve issues through constructive dialogue, presidential spokesperson says

Exploratory talks with Greece 'important step': Turkish presidential spokesperson

Ankara's ongoing exploratory talks with Athens are an "important step" in improving bilateral relations, Turkey's presidential spokesman said on Jan. 30.

In a talk on Turkish foreign policy, İbrahim Kalın said: "This is an important step in terms of our relations with our neighbor Greece, the European Union and the balance of power in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean."

Next Greek-Turkish meeting expected in March

The first day of exploratory contacts between Greek and Turkish delegations on Monday in Istanbul sent out more of a political message than making concrete progress.

The most important development was the participation of the representative of the Turkish presidency, Ibrahim Kalin, who was not initially expected to attend. 

Exploratory talks between Greece, Turkey begin with guarded optimism

Diplomatic delegations in Greece and Ankara met for three hours today in Ankara to launch exploratory talks on bilateral issues.

It was the 61st round of such talks, which commenced in 2002, when George Papandreou was foreign minister, and were abruptly terminated in 2016 after an abortive coup against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in 2016.
