Archaeologists discover 8600-year-old bread at Çatalhöyük
Archaeologists have discovered nearly 8,600-year-old bread in the Çatalhöyük Neolithic settlement, one of the first places of urban settlement in the world in central Anatolian province of Konya. The site was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2012.

Back when Greece was still using the drachma as it currency, there was a bakery on downtown Athens' Kaningos Square that didn't sell bread, but just made it. Nova Gorica company makes its largest industrial baking oven
Nova Gorica – Gostol Gopan, a Nova Gorica-based company that makes industrial ovens and equipment for large bakeries, has announced that it shipped the largest thermal oil baking oven they have ever built. It was sold to one of Europe’s largest bakeries from Hungary. This thermal oil baking oven made by Gostol Gopan is 3 metres wide, 17 metres long and 5.3 metres high.

Asked in a show on B1 TV if he knows the price of a loaf of bread, Ludovic Orban said that he consumes sliced bread, which costs about six lei, but that there is a tendency to increase the price of bread.

Two-meter-long Ramadan pita sold by auction
A baker in the eastern province of Kars sold a 2.20-meter pita, with "Stay at Home Turkey" written on top of it using poppy and black seed prepared for the holy month of Ramadan.
Bakery owner Mustafa Kaya, who made the Ramadan pita with a dough weighing about 14 kilograms, said that he prepared such a thing in order to raise awareness to coronavirus measures.

Turkish baker supports French hospital by baking bread
A Turkish-origin baker and his family bake bread and take them to health personnel in the French city of Mulhouse to contribute to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
The family appealed to Emile Muller Hospital in the city to help its personnel, and the request was accepted, the baker, Faruk Beyaz, said.
