Greece heading for another record year in tourism

The momentum of airline reservations, i.e. the tickets that have already been sold as well as the airline seats planned by the airlines for Greece this season, point to an increase in tourism arrivals of up to 10% this year compared to the all-time high recorded in 2023

This is provided there are no unforeseeable domestic or international events.

Cyprus Airways enjoys rapid expansion

Cyprus Airways carried a total of 260,000 passengers in the first half of 2023, marking a steep increase of 300% year-on-year, while it doubled its operations compared with June of last year.

According to a press release, in June the Cypriot flag carrier carried 59,110 passengers, compared with 29,979 last year.

Heathrow airport posts big loss on UK Covid curbs

London's Heathrow Airport announced yesterday that it narrowed annual losses only slightly in 2021 despite the reopening of global air travel, blaming what it said were stricter passenger curbs in Britain compared to the neighboring EU.

British Airways Flight Was Urgently Evacuated after Smoke Filled the Cabin

The crew and all passengers on a British Airways flight from London to Valencia were urgently evacuated after smoke filled the cabin shortly before landing, the BBC reported. Three of the passengers were taken to a hospital for preventive check-ups and were later discharged.
