Kaili not taking part in EP session for ‘personal reasons’
Eva Kaili, the MEP charged over her involvement in the Qatargate scandal, will not attend the plenary session of European Parliament in Strasbourg this week, for "personal, objective reasons which cannot be made public," her lawyers said in a statement on Monday.
Kaili to seek to return to MEP duties, lawyer says
Greek MEP Eva Kaili, one the main suspects in a cash-for-influence corruption probe at the European Parliament, will seek to return to her parliamentary duties next week, her lawyer has said.
On Thursday, Belgian authorities announced that Kaili was no longer under house arrest and was not required to wear an ankle bracelet.

MEP Kaili to remain in prison
A Belgian court has rejected an application from Greek MEP Eva Kaili to be released from pre-trial custody, following a hearing before the Court of First Instance in Brussels.
She can appeal the decision to keep her detained, the federal prosecutor's office said in a statement.
