New record of nearly 14,000 new coronavirus cases on Saturday
Ljubljana – A new daily record number of coronavirus infection cases was recorded in Slovenia on Saturday as 13,911 PCR tests were positive, with the positivity rate standing at 75.5%, the latest data from the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) show. Total hospitalisations were up slightly, while as many as 18 people with Covid-19 died.
RTV Slovenija gets new ombudsman
Ljubljana – Marica Uršič Zupan, a journalist at the regional newspaper Primorske Novice and a lecturer, has been appointed ombudsman at public broadcaster RTV Slovenija, an office concerned with processing complaints by viewers and listeners.

Kadunc takes over as STA acting director
Ljubljana – Igor Kadunc, former director general of the public broadcaster RTV Slovenija, takes over as the acting director at the Slovenian Press Agency (STA) on Sunday. He stressed that ensuring financial stability of the STA would be his priority as a prerequisite for the normal functioning and existence of the agency.

Ex-RTV Slovenija boss Igor Kadunc appointed STA acting director
Ljubljana – The supervisory board of the Slovenian Press Agency (STA) appointed on Monday Igor Kadunc, former director general of the public broadcaster RTV Slovenija, the agency’s acting director. Kadunc will take over from outgoing director Bojan Veselinovič on 31 October, while taking over as full-fledged director on 1 January 2022.
TV Slovenija news programme editor-in-chief steps down
Ljubljana – Manica Janežič Ambrožič, the TV news programme editor-in-chief at public broadcaster RTV Slovenija, stepped down on Friday. She said she had decided to do so because she disagreed with changes to the programme and production plan for TV Slovenija’s news programme for next year, RTV Slovenija said in a statement.
