Brussels Agreement

BRUSSELS - In a statement ahead of an April 4 Brussels meeting of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, the EU said on Friday it expected both parties to contribute to an atmosphere of reconciliation, normalisation and quick implementation of agreements.

BELGRADE - Serbian Defence Minister Milos Vucevic said on Monday Serbia must stay at the negotiating table in the process of resolving the Kosovo-Metohija issue as leaving the talks would play into the hands of Pristina's PM Albin Kurti and those who wished no good to Serbia.

VIENNA - Serbian FM Ivica Dacic said on Wednesday in Vienna EU integration was Serbia's strategic commitment and that the country deserved progress in that regard.

EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Josep Borrell said after the meeting that both parties will be bound by the agreement that will be part of their European path.

In Skopje, after a meeting with Macedonian President Stevo Pendarovski, he thanked North Macedonia for its support in the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina and expressed the hope that "the beautiful landscape of Ohrid will create the beautiful atmosphere needed to reach an agreement".

BELGRADE - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic met with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State and Washington's special Western Balkans envoy Gabriel Escobar on Wednesday.

It is recalled that last week in Pristina, Lajk spoke with the Prime Minister of Kosovo and that the conversation took place without any progress towards the establishment of the Community of Serbian Municipalities.

Washington also said that it wants a quick finalization of "mutual recognition" between Belgrade and Pristina, noting that it is not possible to determine a specific time frame for that.

BELGRADE - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic said on Tuesday the establishment of a Community of Serb Municipalities in Kosovo-Metohija must now be on the agenda and that the EU's credibility rested upon its implementation.

BRUSSELS - In case Belgrade and Pristina accept an EU plan on normalisation of relations at Monday's meeting in Brussels, that will also mean automatic acceptance of the establishment of a Community of Serb Municipalities, a high-ranking EU official who wished to remain unnamed said on Friday.
