Romania Party Sacks Social Media Chief Over Fake Video

Romania's ruling Social Democrat Party chief Liviu Dragnea on Wednesday said that he had fired the party's social media chief, former journalist George Harabagiu, after accusations that he had created and disseminated a fake video on several party Facebook accounts to save Bucharest Mayor Gabriela Firea's reputation.

Senate hosts first Parliamentary Summit of Bucharest Format (B9) April 17-19

Romanian Senate on Tuesday will open for three days, April 17-19, the first Parliamentary Summit of the Bucharest Format (B9).

Holy Light from Jerusalem to be brought to Romania on Saturday

The Holy Light from Jerusalem will be brought on Saturday evening aboard a special aircraft by a delegation of the Romanian Patriarchy, headed by Vicar Bishop of the Archbishopric of Bucharest Timotei Prahoveanul.

The Holy Light will be offered at the Resurrection mass by Romanian Orthodox Church Patriarch Daniel to the clergy and believers present at the Patriarchal Cathedral.

'Earth Hour" marked in the Capital City; Presidency, Gov't, Parliament to switch the light off

Several public institutions in the Capital City Bucharest, as well as organizations are marking on Saturday the "Earth Hour."

* The Presidential Administration joins the "Earth Hour" campaign for the fourth consecutive year.

In this respect, on Saturday, between 20.30 and 21.30 EET, the lights at the Cotroceni Palace will be switched off, informs the Presidency.
