Complaint filed against husband for causing wife to commit suicide

A criminal case has been filed against a man in the Central Anatolian province of Eskişehir on accusations that he drove his wife to commit suicide.

Şemiye Budak, 50, was found dead in the city's Porsuk River with a knife in her liver on March 1, 2015, but the prosecutor's office failed to find any evidence of a murder.

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has ordered Turkey to pay 30,000 euros for the inadequacy of a criminal investigation carried out by domestic authorities into two missing persons, who were found dead years later, allegedly after being murdered by soldiers.
