Serbia's Albanians Plot Their Own Municipal Union
Nagip Arifi, mayor of Bujanovac, a mainly Albanian municipality in southern Serbia, told BIRN on Friday that Serbian Albanians plans to set up a municipal union on the same lines as Serbs have done in Kosovo.

Albanians in south to set up "association of municipalities"
Bujanovac municipality President Nagip Arifi has announced a "constitutive session of an association of municipalities with Albanian majority."
The meeting will take place in Presevo, southern Serbia, on September 12, the Beta agency is reporting.
U.S. National Guard funds refurbishing of two facilities
Serbian Defense Minister Bratislav Gasic and U.S. Ambassador to Serbia Michael Kirby visited on Thursday the two facilities in Bujanovac, southern Serbia.
They are a music school and a kindergarten whose reconstruction was funded by the U.S. National Guard of Ohio with USD 130,000.
Conflict "cannot spread" from Macedonia - official
President of the Coordinating Body for Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanovac Zoran Stankovic says it is "not possible" for the conflict in Macedonia "to spill over."
"Our information shows it is not possible for a spillover to occur of the conflict in Macedonia to the territory of Serbia," he told TV Pink on Monday morning.

Serbia has around 150,000 Roma
BELGRADE - Serbia has a total of 147,604 Roma people, making up 2.05 percent of the population, according to a study titled Roma People in Serbia, by Svetlana Radovanovic and Aleksandar Knezevic of the Faculty of Geography in Belgrade.
The study was done based on data from the census conducted by the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia in 2011.

OSCE commends communication with multi-ethnic regions
