Epigraphs shed light on quakes in ancient city
Ongoing excavations in Turkey's southwest have revealed details on earthquakes from an ancient period.
Excavations and restoration efforts that began in 2012 in the ancient city of Tripolis in the southwestern province of Denizli's Buldan district revealed skeletal remains as well as the effects of earthquakes on structures at the site.

Roman-era sewage system discovered in western Turkey
The archaeological excavations carried out in the ancient city of Tripolis in the western province of Denizli's Buldan district have unearthed a 2,000-year-old Roman-era sewer system, which is 160 centimeters in height and 70 centimeters in width.

Deputy Parliament Speaker and Kurdish-issue focused Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Istanbul lawmaker Pervin Buldan has testified in court in a case filed into her over "being a member of an armed terrorist organization" in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır.
HDP deputies visit jailed party members
Kurdish issue-focused Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) deputies Pervin Buldan and Mithat Sancar visited arrested party deputies, including HDP co-chairs Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ, on Dec. 3 and 4.
The visits came after the Turkish Justice Ministry's 1,5-month ban on visits to arrested deputies of the party was lifted.

Police officer arrested over incident that led to death of four civilians in Turkey's east
A court in the eastern province of Hakkari on Oct. 9 ordered the arrest of a police officer over an incident that led to the death of four civilians, Doğan News Agency has reported.
Civilians at a furniture store in the Yüksekova district of Hakkari were hit after a machine gun on the top of an armored police vehicle opened fire while patrolling on Oct. 8.
Four killed in Turkey's southeast
Four people were killed and two others were wounded when fire was opened from an armored police vehicle in the Yüksekova district of Hakkari on Oct. 8, according to a statement released by Hakkari Governor's Office.
