As Bulgaria commemorates its National Day on March 3rd, nearly 400,000 Bulgarians residing in Germany join in the celebration, highlighting the vibrant and dynamic presence of the Bulgarian diaspora in the country. Known for its allure as a favored destination for Bulgarians seeking opportunities abroad, Germany boasts a thriving Bulgarian community scattered across its cities and towns.

The 175th anniversary of the birth of revolutionary poet Hristo Botev will be celebrated on January 6 across the country with rituals with the participation of representative units from the Ground Forces, the Air Force, the Navy, the Joint Special Operations Command, and the National Guard.

Young people keep in touch with Bulgaria and inform Bulgarians around the world with publications in Bulgarian media abroad.

For the first time in more than 140-year long history of the celebrations of Botev, the events in Vratsa and the vicinity have been cancelled over the coronavirus.

According to data of the Bulgarian Border Police, nearly 110,000 Bulgarians returned from abroad from the first day of quarantine until March 23. 36,000 people returned to Bulgaria by plane. Over 26,000 Bulgarians entered this country from Romania, nearly 2,000 from Greece. 3,000 Bulgarian nationals entered this country from North Macedonia and 4,000 people entered Bulgaria from Serbia.

The Movement for the Renewal of the Bulgarian Regions and Municipalities, the State Agency for Bulgarians Abroad and the first global business network of the Bulgarian Diaspora are organizing today in Sofia a large-scale conference entitled "Successful Bulgarians Abroad - for the cause of Bulgaria", BNR reported.

More than half a million Bulgarians are expected to travel to celebrate the Christmas and New Year holidays. About 140,000 of them will welcome holidays outside Bulgaria, according to statistics from the Institute for Tourism Analyzes and Assessments.
