Amidst rumours of a change in the exchange rate of the Bulgarian Lev to the Euro, the public have reacted by converting Leva into Euro on a massive scale.
Ministry of Justice Asked the UAE for the Extradition of Vasil Bozhkov
On February 15, 2020, the Ministry of Justice sent the request of the Prosecutor General for the extradition of Vasil Bozhkov to the Bulgarian Embassy in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The documents translated into Arabic were also sent.
The letter of Minister Danail Kirilov to the UAE Minister of Justice and the extradition documents will be transmitted through diplomatic channels.

The Average Income per Household Member in Bulgaria Increased by 11,3%
The average income per household member in Bulgaria over the third quarter of 2019 stood at 877.38 euro /1,716 Leva/, or a 11.3 percent increase compared to the third quarter of last year, the National Statistical Institute says.
Salaries account for the biggest relative share of incomes (56.5%), followed by pensions (27.2%) and self-employment (6.7%), BNR reported.
1 Billion BGN is the Profit of the Banks For the First 7 Months of 2019
One billion leva is the profit of the banks for the first seven months of the year, according to BNB data. It increased by BGN 95 million compared to July last year.
About 60% of assets in the banking system are concentrated in the five largest banks, BNB data show. The whole system has seen an increase in the credit portfolio and the portfolio of government securities.

BNB Registered 90 New Bulgarian Millionaires for a Year
The Bulgarian National Bank has registered 90 new Bulgarians with more than 1 million Leva in the bank in the space of just one year, BNR reported.
Data show there are 916 millionaires in the country at this time. Their aggregate wealth amounts to around 2 billion Leva (around 1 billion 22 million euro), Nova TV reports.

Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova announced during parliamentary scrutiny that for a total of 143 managed beaches, the average price for a stay under an umbrella is about BGN 6.50 and for a sunbed - about BGN 5.60.
