Eurobank finishes buyout of Piraeus’ Bulgarian unit

Greece's third-largest lender, Eurobank, said on Friday that its Bulgarian subsidiary Postbank had concluded the acquisition of Piraeus Bank's Bulgarian unit after obtaining regulatory approvals.
The acquisition boosts Postbank's share in Bulgaria's banking market to more than 10 percent, ranking it third in terms of total loans, Eurobank said.

The Commission on Protection of Competition allows Eurobank Bulgaria to Acquire Piraeus Bank

The Commission on Protection of Competition has permitted Post Bank, with legal name Eurobank Bulgaria AD, to acquire Piraeus Bank, Bulgaria.

After permission for the deal was given by the Bulgarian National Bank, the financial entity is now the fourth biggest financial institution in terms of assets in Bulgaria.

EIB strikes deal with Eurobank on SME funding

Eurobank announced on Monday that two new agreements had been signed with the European Investment Bank for supporting investment plans by small and medium-sized enterprises.

A 100-million-euro loan agreement is destined to offer a credit line to SMEs through the Greek lender, following two more deals already signed totaling 250 million euros.
