Ukraine Summoned the Bulgarian Ambassador due to President Radev's Statement on Crimea

In connection with questions asked by the media related to interpretations of the words of President Rumen Radev from the pre-election debate on November 18, 2021 on his position on the issue of Crimea, the press office of the head of state informed:

Gendarmerie and Police in front of the Turkish Embassy in Sofia, Protecting it from Protests

Gendarmerie and police forces are in front of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey on the capital's Vasil Levski Boulevard.

There are 6 gendarmerie buses on site, a lot of police, a fire truck and an ambulance. The diplomatic car was taken out and left the building with two people inside.

The entrance is closed.

President Radev Thinks over Date of Parliament Dissolution and New General Election

President Rumen Radev said he wouldseek a rational solution for the date of dissolution of the National Assembly and the scheduling of the parliamentary elections. He was speaking in response to the queries of journalists present at Friday's opening of a medical simulation training centre at the Military Medical Academy in Sofia.

A 2-in-1 election contradicts the spirit of our constitutional model, Bulgaria's head of state Rumen Radev told journalists. Presidential and Parliamentary elections were never held on the same day, noted President Radev. Bulgaria should seek a balance between the price of holding separate elections and going to the polling stations on three consecutive Sundays.
