The current mayor of Ruse Pencho Milkov from the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) won 60.5% of the votes in yesterday's runoff, and his rival Ivan Ivanov from GERB-SDS got 33%, according to the exit poll of the Trend Research Center.

In a recent statement, Kristian Vigenin, Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly and Deputy Chairman of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), discussed the party's plans following the second round of local elections. He mentioned that the BSP would assess the situation, but their primary goal is to assist in toppling the current government.

At the beginning of the plenary session, the "Vazrazhdane" party called on the Minister of Defense Todor Tagarev to resign.

The leader of the party, Kostadin Kostadinov, stated that with his actions, the Minister of Defense is not working for the country.

Vanya Grigorova will be the candidate for mayor of Sofia broadcast by the left coalition "Levitsa" and the Bulgarian Socialist Party. 24 out of 24 BSP structures supported Grigorova's candidacy, and the talks with her lasted for several months. Her candidacy is to be confirmed at the BSP city conference. The motto of her campaign will be: "Sofia for all".

The Bulgarian Government approved a draft Agreement between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on the free provision of armored transport equipment.

The Minister of the Interior is to conduct the negotiations and sign an agreement.

An initiative committee, which started a petition to call a referendum against "gender ideology" and was supported by the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), managed to collect a little over 208,000 signatures for the three-month period it had (it expired on July 26).

The pro-Russian political party "Vazrazhdane" has received help from "There Is Such a People" and the independent MP Radostin Vassilev to appeal to the Constitutional Court about the decision of the National Assembly to reject the proposal to call a referendum against the euro. This was announced by party leader Kostadin Kostadinov at a briefing on the sidelines of the parliament.

After more than three and a half hours of debate and 98 votes "against", the Bulgarian parliament rejected the draft decision of "Vazrazhdane" to hold a referendum that would postpone Bulgaria's entry into the Eurozone for twenty years.

"The Bulgarian national interest was sold three times in one day". This was stated by BSP leader Kornelia Ninova regarding Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to Bulgaria, today's approved declaration of Ukraine's accession to NATO and the decision to sell equipment from the "Belene" NPP to Ukraine.

With 163 votes "in favor", the National Assembly decided to instruct the government to speed up the process of renewing the Ministry of Defence's wartime stocks of weapons, ammunition, explosives and pyrotechnics by replacing them with newly manufactured ones.
