Turnout to Determine 'Winner' in Bulgaria's European Elections
Voter turnout will be the decisive factor to determine which of the main parties, ruling BSP and the opposition GERB will win May 25's European elections, a recent poll shows.
According to the polling agency Gallup International, the two parties are running neck to neck, with support estimated between 500 000 and 600 000 for each of them.
BSP, GERB Equal Ahead of European Elections - Poll
The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) and center-right GERB would both get 18.3% of the votes if the European elections were today, according to a Gallup International survey.
The survey was conducted between May 8 and May 15, with 1,011 eligible voters asked about their preferences.

Trial Against Former Bulgarian PM Stanishev Adjourned Again
Sofia City Court has put off for the second time the start of a trial against ruling socialists' leader and former Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev.
The reason was that Stanishev had not received a transcript of the indictment, a blunder that also caused the previous misfiring in Apri, Dariknews.bg has reported.
Sofia City Court Begins Socialist Leader Trial
The Sofia City Court is to hold its first sitting on the trial against Sergey Stanishev, the leader of the ruling Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP).
Stanishev, who was formerly Prime Minister (2005-2009) and is a MEP candidate, is accused of having lost seven secret documents.

Bulgaria’s center-right GERB party MEP candidate Tomislav Donchev has invited socialist MEP candidate Sergei Stanishev to a political debate within the current election campaign.
Bulgarian Socialist MP, MEP Candidate Leaves Parliament
Petar Kurumbashev, MP from the ruling Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), has resigned and will leave Parliament.
Bulgarian Parliament Speaker Mihail Mikov announced Kurumbashev's decision on Wednesday, without specifying the motives.
Kurumbashev is one of the seven deputy chairs of BSP, according to reports of mediapool.bg.
Bulgaria's Parliament Elects Audit Office Head
Lidiya Rumenova, a former member of the National Audit Office, was elected Chair of Bulgaria's auditing body.
Her nomination was supported by 95 out of 240 MPs, with lawmakers from Ataka and opposition Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB) choosing not to vote, according to Dnevnik.bg.
