A Turkish-origin candidate will contest the presidential elections in Bulgaria for the first time.
The Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) party nominated Mustafa Karadayı to run for president.

On 16th of April, Bulgaria marks the Day of the Bulgarian Constitution. On this date in 1879, the First Grand National Assembly adopted the first basic law of Bulgaria, known as the Turnovo Constitution.
Bulgarian Trucks Blocked at the Border with Turkey
Dozens of Bulgarian trucks were not allowed to enter Turkish territory when they tried to cross the Bulgarian-Turkish border checkpoint near Svilengrad. The trucks were brought back to Bulgarian territory with the motive that they should be quarantined for 14 days.

Nearly 400 Illegal Migrants Are Detained on the Bulgarian Border with Greece and Turkey
