German budget committee to discuss Greek compromise deal on Wednesday, report says

The budget committee of Germany's Bundestag lower house of parliament will debate the latest compromise deal for Greece and the International Monetary Fund's role in the bailout next Wednesday, parliamentary sources told Reuters on Friday.

"This will be subject for discussion as a normal matter on Wednesday in the budget committee," a parliamentary official said.

Bundestag president to visit Belgrade Wednesday

BERLIN - President of the German Bundestag Norbert Lammert is to pay a visit to Belgrade on Wednesday to meet with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and speak in the Serbian parliament, several sources have confirmed to Tanjug.

The two-day visit has not as yet been officially announced and there is no specific information on the agenda of the upcoming discussions in Belgrade.

Chancellor Angela Merkel's coalition government is planning to deploy Tornado reconnaissance jets, a refuelling tanker aircraft, a frigate as well as sending 1,200 German troops as part of the mission.

The discussion commenced at 10 in the morning and is expected to pass, but the interest will be focused on how many dissenters in Chancellor Angela Merkel’s party will vote against the party line.
